Match Report: A Grade, 2013-14 Round 2

Coming off a round 1 one outright loss but with a significantly strengthened side, the boys faced the Fountain Gate Gators in Round 2. Captain Zach lost his first toss, but the boys relished the opportunity to bowl rolling Fountain Gate for 142. Greg Duguid was in vintage form with a fantastic 5/41, constantly finding the edge of confused batsman and directing it to the safe gloves of Lleyton Ross. Cam Edwards toiled hard all day into a strong breeze to hold up the other end admirably.

Batting the last 20 overs of the day was no problem for "boom boom" Bryan Stephens who channelled his inner caveman rage to smash 48 off 18 overs. Despite the gators fighting back with some quick wickets, Steve "Pez" Mason masterfully steadied the ship and guided the boys through to the target with three wickets in hand. After that, Captain Zach had a bit of fun in junk time, smashing the ball around for a quick-fire 41*.

The boys face 6th placed Narre North away next week, and will look to keep the winning feeling going.
